
A very quick, easy and totally delicious Tagliatelle carbonara!
Ingredients
- 1 medium bag of tagliatelle (fresh is best)
- 1 packet of streaky smoked bacon
- 2 Knorr chicken stock cubes
- A small punnet of white button mushrooms (Sliced)
- 1 clove of garlic (crushed or finely chopped)
- 1 and a half tubs of single cream
- grated cheese (Parmesan is best, but cheddar will do)
- Extra virgin olive oil
Method
- Using a scissors, cut the bacon length ways into strips about the same width as the Tagliatelle.
- Place the bacon into a saucepan on a low heat in the vegetable oil and cook until it's no longer raw.
- Stir in one of the stock cubes, if the bacon juice is still watery add the 2nd cube.
- Add the mushrooms, garlic and cream, simmer (Not boil) on a low heat for a few minutes.
- Cook the tagliatelle as per instructions, drain and add to the rest of the dish.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes and serve with cheese sprinkled on top!
