Tagliatelle Carbonara

Taglietelli Carbonara
A very quick, easy and totally delicious Tagliatelle carbonara!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium bag of tagliatelle (fresh is best)
  • 1 packet of streaky smoked bacon
  • 2 Knorr chicken stock cubes
  • A small punnet of white button mushrooms (Sliced)
  • 1 clove of garlic (crushed or finely chopped)
  • 1 and a half tubs of single cream
  • grated cheese (Parmesan is best, but cheddar will do)
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Method

  1. Using a scissors, cut the bacon length ways into strips about the same width as the Tagliatelle.
  2. Place the bacon into a saucepan on a low heat in the vegetable oil and cook until it's no longer raw.
  3. Stir in one of the stock cubes, if the bacon juice is still watery add the 2nd cube.
  4. Add the mushrooms, garlic and cream, simmer (Not boil) on a low heat for a few minutes.
  5. Cook the tagliatelle as per instructions, drain and add to the rest of the dish.
  6. Simmer for about 10 minutes and serve with cheese sprinkled on top!
